Underscoring the need to go slow and steady, because the consequences can be deadly. In 2020, one man died and at least eight people were hospitalized after eating poisonous mushrooms. Marasmiellusis a genus of fungi in the family Marasmiaceae. The widespread genus contains about 250 species, including Marasmiellus Candidus, Marasmiellus Luxurians, Marasmiellus Confluens and Marasmiellus Dichrous. The name comes from the Greek “marasmus” meaning “wasting.”
